Torrechiara Festival "Renata Tebaldi"

The Torrechiara Festival is dedicated to the great soprano Renata Tebaldi, who lived in Langhirano. She participated at the festival in the inaugural evenings of the 1997 and 2000 editions.

PREVIOUS EDITIONS:

A lot of artists of international standing, have partecipated to the Torrechiara Festival.
We can mention for classical music, the Orchestra of Camera of European Union, the Arches of the Teatro alla Scala in Milan, the Ensamble Europa Galante, the Bass Michele Pertusi, the Trio of Parma, the Violinist Sergej Krylov that participated with a pyrotechnic program dedicated to Paganini.

Twice, has participated the Berlin Ensamble, formed by soloists of the Berliner Philarmoniker. In 1999, was staged, the Opera Buffa by G. Rossini while in 2001 was staged ‘’Il Signor Bruschino’’, always realised by Rossini, that was defined by the national press, as one of the most beautiful surprises of the Italian summer music.

Among the protagonists of jazz music, we could mention the accordionist Richard Galliano, the pianist Enrico Pieranunzi and the formidable clarinettist David Krakauer, protagonist of a memorable show.

Among the protagonists of traditional music, the Festival hosted the English Fairport Convention, legend of British Folk – rock, the Irish Derwish and John McSherry Band, the Scottish Old Blind Dogs, the Albanian group Fanfara Tirana, the Simentera and the brilliant saxophonist Boris Kovac.

Among others important protagonists we could mention the actress Amanda Sandrelli, the Gospel singer Fontella Bass, Augusto Enriquez and his Mambo Band, Teresa de Sio and the tango dancer Pedro Monteleone, who is considered a legend in Argentina.
Other important protagonists were the Brazilian guitarist Irio De Paula and the famous vocal group The Swingle Singers.
