FIRST DAY

Arrival in Parma and check-in at the hotel. Day at leisure for a self-guided walking tour of the city center: the Cathedral with the dome frescoed by Correggio, the octagonal Baptistery made by pink marble, the magnificent Teatro Regio opera house, the Pilotta Palace hosting the National Gallery with Michelangelo Da Vinci, Correggio and Parmigianino masterpieces and the wooden Teatro Farnese unique in its kind. Visit of other charming places of artistic interest to discover the great cultural heritage of our city that will be the Italian Capital for Culture 2020!

SECOND DAY
Breakfast and check-out.
After a short relaxing drive, arrival in Colli di Parma, the smooth hills around Parma overlooking the beauties of Langhirano and the oriental Appenines in the province of Parma. The hills offer charming landscapes on the plain, the valley and the wondrous Castle of Torrechiara, with its slopes and vineyards. Meeting with a licensed Guida Ambientale Escursionistica (Nature & Walking Guide) and e-bikes rental. Ride on routes and paths through fields and vineyards for an unforgettable and exciting private tour through the rolling hills of the area. Stop in two food factories producing local products: a wine cellar of Vini dei Colli di Parma (local PDO wines) and an ham factory of Prosciutto di Parma PDO to discover its traditional production. You will even have the chance to meet the owners and know their every-day life. End of e-bike rental and of guide service. Lunch at leisure in the medieval village of Torrechiara, located on the top of a terraced hill. Thanks to its strategic position in the Middle Age, the manor dominates the valley and the plain. Visit to the ancient Castle of Torrechiara, built between the 1448 and 1460 by “the Magnificent” Pier Maria Rossi. The Castle was a residential building, characterized by the richness of grotesque frescoes by Cesare Baglione. In the Castle you will find the extraordinary “Camera d’Oro” (Golden chamber) by Benedetto Bembo, built to celebrate the delicate love story between Pier Maria and Bianca Pellegrini. The Castle of Torrechiara is one of the most suggestive castle among the Duchy of Parma, Piacenza and Pontremoli.
